ArtBook Specific Design Guidelines

ArtBooks are very special products and we want to be up front with their limitation so you can make better design choices - this way your client will enjoy the book for years to come.

USE NEGATIVE SPACE STYLE

Please keep your designs clean and simple with white backgrounds only and with generous amount of white space from the edge of the project (at least 1.2cm / 0,47").

AVOID DEEP BLACKS

While designing the ArtBook, please avoid images with heavy use of deep blacks as some ink transfer between pages might occur. If you need to use darker image, please do not leave facing white space on the opposite side.

Make sure to use another dark image which will touch together when the book is closed. Please remember that due to the nature of Matte Paper, deep blacks will loose considerable amount of contrast.

If you are about perfect reproduction dark parts of your images, we would advise to select Aria book with Fuji paper instead. In case of Cotton Rag paper, please refrain from using darker images in full bleed mode.

MIND THE CUT LINE

Due to the pulpy nature of the paper, some cracking may be visible along the cut line.
